Sluggers Co-Ed Team's Debut Game - Great Effort and Solid Performance in Opening Day Loss Against Team Watson. Final Score 12-18

SOE SLUGGERS CO-ED SOFTBALL – BATTLE OF THE CHAMPIONS!

GAME DATE/TIME: SUNDAY, MARCH 26: 9:00 PM (Field #1) at Hourglass Park.

SOE SLUGGERS (Men’s Rec League Winners with our All-Pro Ladies) (0-1) vs. WATSON (Upper Div Co-Ed Winners) (1-0)

FINAL SCORE: Sluggers 12 Watson 18

Hey Team! Great Effort and Solid Performance for our first game together! It came at a losing effort with a score of 18-12, but this was against the Upper Rec Co-Ed Champions of last season. We will get better as the season progresses, but I'm already seeing alot of positives for the future. Keep it loose and have Fun!

Kudos to the Home Run hitters! (especially those that hit them with my bad pitching.. :). Scott, Joe R. and Brad come to mind with their towering hits.

Mr. and Ms. Hustle: Lou for his base running and Fisa for running down those outfield fly balls. Great effort and keep motoring.

Don't hurt your opponent: Watch out for Heather's line drives! The Shortstop for the opposing team was hit and limping the rest of the game and even had to have a substitute base runner the rest of the game.

My leg just won't get out of the way: Ed's left shin gets hit again from a hit from his own teammate for a second game in-a-row. Must be his magnetic personality.

Taking one for the team: Stacey's chin. I hope it doesn't hurt on Monday.

Love thy enemy: Kara hugging the base runner into second base. Did you get his phone number?

Barry Bonds Steroid club...I have to give this to the opposing teams woman first base "lefty" player. I think she got the most home runs for a single batter in the game. Maybe they have East German batting coaches... :)

Good Luck in our Next Game!

Best,

Coach Ed

Da Boys sign the NFL's most accurate kicker (87.5 percent accuracy), Mike Vanderjagt, to a 3-year, $5.4 million deal. The Bolts could have used him in their 2004 Play-off game against the Jets!

Dallas Cowboys Make Their First Big Free Agency Acquisition! Success or Bust with T.O.?

Whether you like him or not, Terrell Owens got the 3-year, $25 Million contract with Da Boys. Perhaps more controversial than Michael Irvin with his drug problems, can T.O. help bring a Championship back to Dallas (and not disrupt the team like he did in Philly)? (AP Photo/Ron Heflin)

Sluggers Men's Team Suffers First Lost of the Season (1-1)

They say it builds character. They say you learn from it. It often happens after a big win. Sluggers suffer their first loss since November. Score 14-18.

Coach Nick's Comments: "Bright spots were Thom’s defensive play at third base – he was our defensive star. Jeremy was solid at second and Joe’s block at home while catching was solid. McWherter’s over the fence HR was a shot. And he opened the game by striking out the lead batter."

Sluggers Men's Team Wins Home Opener 33-15

The Sluggers Men’s Team had an offensive explosion in last night’s game to begin defending their Championship title. They won the game 33-15, leading the other team for the entire game. Andy Skirvin was in the “zone”, hitting for the “cycle” including the very impressive “over the left field fence” homerun at his second at bat. He also had the “slide of the game” when he hit a double, ran to third on a throwing error, and then slid into home safely through the defending catcher. New field, new jerseys, and a great start for another run to REPEAT as CHAMPIONS!
